IPC2U presents the tDS-724/734 Serial-to-Ethernet Convertor. This device is designed to lend Ethernet and Internet connectivity to any RS-232/485 devices which do not possess LAN interfaces and to eliminate the cable length limitation for serial communication. E. g. it can be easily used for remote control of your serial devices through Ethernet.
VxComm Driver/Utility allows user to virtualize the built-in COM port of the tDS-724/734 to a standard PC COM port in Windows. Thus, users can transparently access or monitor serial devices over the Internet/Ethernet without software modification. VxComm Driver/Utility supports the common operating systems such as 32-bit/ 64-bit Windows 7, Vista, 2008, 2003, XP. The virtual COM interface works transparently and independent of any protocol.
The tDS-700 Series converter can be power supplied via PoE connection according to IEEE 802.3af standard. Moreover, the tDS 700 can take power via DC adapter.
The serial-to-Ethernet Converter possesses a powerful 32-bit microcontroller, which allows an efficient networking management. The built-in web server provides an intuitive interface for module adjustment incl. DHCP/Static IP, Gateway and serial ports. To protect the device against damages by surge voltage there is an ESD protection onboard.
